Pelagic Pro Team Capt. Kevin Hibbard is the ultimate marlin fisherman. He is prolific in both fishing lure or bait for our ocean's largest billfish - blue or black marlin. Both a captain and a mate/wireman, Kevin has seen it all - wiring grander blue marlin off Hawaii, and grander black marlin off Australia. He has also designed many lures, leaning on his years of experience marlin fishing.
Capt Hibbard has won and placed in multiple Kona and Maui tournaments and he holds the world record for shortbill spearfish on 16-lb tackle. His Grander Black marlin (1018lb) caught in Australia, still stands as his personal best. He is also the 2019 Winner of the HIBT. Capt Hibbard and the Pelagic Team won the 2021 Bisbees Los Cabos Offshore Tournament on a lure that he rigged.
