When:
· Friday, May 30th – Kickoff BBQ & Captains Meeting. 5:00pm – 7:00pm, 44-585 c Kaneohe Bay Drive.
· Saturday, May 31st – Tournament Fishing Day
General Entry & Optional Jackpots:
· Base Entry: $250 per boat entry goes to the Ahi Division. The team weighing the largest Ahi/Shibi wins (minimum weight 20lbs). If no qualifying Ahi/Shibi are weighed, all money in this division will roll over to the biggest fish overall, Marlin, Ono, or Mahi.
· All In: $550.00
Optional Jackpots:
· Mahi-Mahi: $100.00. Single biggest Mahi wins
· Ono: $100.00. Single biggest Ono wins
· Marlin: $100.00. Single biggest Marlin wins
· If no qualifying fish are weighed in any one optional jackpot category, the money from that category will be equally split between the remaining two optional jackpot categories. If no qualifying fish are weighed in two of the three optional jackpot categories, the money from those two categories will go to the remaining optional jackpot category. If no qualifying fish are weighed in any of the three optional jackpot categories, all money will be returned to the participants in those categories entered.
· Minimum weight for Ahi is 20 pounds. Minimum weight for Mahi and Ono 10 pounds.
· Minimum weight for stripe marlin is 40 pounds. Minimum weight for Blue & Black Marlin is 100 pounds.
· Teams receive 1 point per pound, rounded to the nearest tenth (i.e. 20.2 points) on qualifying fish.
· In the event no Ahi/Shibi are weighed, general entry money goes to biggest fish weighed overall.
· If there is a tie in any division, winner will be determined by which fish is weighed first.
General Tournament Rules:
After applying a 20% administration fee, general entry money in the Pelagic Eastside Shootout goes to the single heaviest qualifying Ahi/Shibi weighed in the tournament. Trophies & Pelagic products will be awarded for the single heaviest fish weighed in the Ahi, Mahi & Ono divisions. Pelagic products will be awarded to 1st – 3rd place in all divisions
Angling & Tackle Rules
· Teams must abide by all Hawaiian fisheries & all other applicable local & state laws governing fishing, your boat and other actions related to this tournament.
· Fish must be caught on standard rod & reel equipment during advertised tournament fishing hours of 7am – 3:30pm.
· The weigh station is open from 3pm to 5pm on May 31st, 2025. All boats must be at Kaneohe Bay head buoy or closer and visually checked in with the weighmaster before 5pm. Weighmaster number: (808) 284-4255.
· All fish must arrive at the weigh station on the boat they were caught on.
· Teams may use live bait, dead bait or lures.
· No electric reels, spears, or harpoons are permitted with the exception of electric teaser reels with no hooks in teasers.
· Excessive public drinking, fights, or bad behavior will not be tolerated, and the tournament director reserves the right to disqualify or remove those who violate laws or such behavior standards.
*All rules to be covered thoroughly at the Captain’s Meeting on May 30th, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, including any last-minute changes.
* There will be a 20% administration fee applied to general entry & all optional jackpots.
We recommend one member from each team attend the Captain’s Meeting. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH TEAM TO READ & UNDERSTAND ALL TOURNAMENT RULES, INCLUDING ANY RULE CHANGES OR ADJUSTMENTS MADE OR ANNOUNCED AT THE CAPTAIN’S MEETING, AND THIS WILL BE ENFORCED.
Fishing Schedule
· Shotgun start and lines in at 7:00am at the Kaneohe Bay Head Buoy on May 31st
· Lines out, stop fishing is at 3:30pm on May 31st
· Must be at weigh station visually checked in by 5:00pm on May 31st
