Anthony Elizo began his journey as a fisherman from a paddle kayak, exploring the waters of Puerto Rico in pursuit of pelagic and reef species. Over the years, his hands-on experience and commitment to understanding our marine resources led him to small-scale commercial fishing, using only hook and line. Today, he focuses on harvesting seasonal species, primarily pelagic fish and deep-water snappers, while serving as a member of the Advisory Panel (DAP) of the Caribbean Fishery Management Council, contributing to discussions on the responsible management of our fisheries.
As a fisherman and licensed captain, Anthony combines his work at sea with education and conservation. He supplies restaurants that value responsibly harvested, high-quality local seafood and offers educational fishing experiences that connect people with Puerto Rico’s marine resources. Through his work, he promotes responsible fishing, sustainability, proper fish handling, and exceptional quality, while maintaining a strong commitment to fostering respect for and conservation of our marine ecosystems.
