Born and raised in San Diego, California, Joseph Ta grew up fishing with his family from the age of seven. He started in freshwater before discovering Southern California’s saltwater fishery, and he's never looked back. Over the past five years, he's worked throughout the marine industry—from commercial fishing and sport boats to yachting—while earning his USCG 100-Ton Master Captain’s License. Today, his greatest passion is chasing giant bluefin tuna, whether it’s flying the kite or casting a jig stick to fish feeding on the surface.
